How to Choose the Right Material for Your MX Graphics Kit

How to Choose the Right Material for Your MX Graphics Kit

Why Material Choice Matters

When ordering a custom MX graphics kit, most riders focus on the design — the colours, the layout, the name on the number plate. But the material you choose underneath that design has just as much impact on how your kit looks, feels, and lasts.

Choosing the wrong base material can mean a kit that looks dull on the track, peels after a few months, or doesn't take premium finishes the way you expected. Choosing the right one means your graphics look incredible for seasons to come.

Here's a breakdown of the main options available at Evemx Designs — and how to pick the one that's right for your riding style.

Standard White (Road Type)

Standard White is the most basic base material we offer. It's a thinner vinyl with a standard adhesive and is ideal for riders who want a clean, affordable kit for street or light off-road use.

Best for: Street supermoto, casual use, budget-conscious builds.

Limitations: Cannot be used with premium finish options. Thinner than our premium base, so slightly less durable under heavy off-road conditions.

Finishes available: Gloss, Matte only.

Premium White (Cross Type)

Premium White is our most popular base material. It's a significantly thicker vinyl than Road Type, making it far more durable on the track. All of our premium laminate finishes can be applied to this base, giving you the widest range of customisation options.

Best for: Motocross, enduro, supermoto, everyday track use. Recommended for beginners due to easier application.

Finishes available: Gloss, Matte, Glitter, Prism, Cosmos, Diamond, Ultra Gloss, Silver Glitter, Frozen, and more.

Full Silver Chrome

Full Silver Chrome is one of our most striking options. Every printed colour takes on a chrome-like, mirror finish — creating a look that is genuinely unlike anything else on the track. The reflective quality of this material adds incredible depth to any design.

Best for: Riders who want maximum visual impact and a unique, head-turning kit.

Full Holographic Chrome

Holographic Chrome takes the chrome look and adds a colour-shifting effect. Depending on the angle and lighting, the base shifts between a range of tones. The result is a graphics kit that looks different every time the light changes — constantly catching the eye.

Best for: Show bikes, riders who want the most distinctive-looking kit at any event.

Metallic

Metallic is a premium base that gives every printed colour a subtle, deep metallic depth. It creates a richer, more three-dimensional appearance than a standard print, without being as bold as chrome. It's a great choice for riders who want premium quality with a refined look.

Fluo Neon (Orange, Yellow, Pink)

Fluo Neon bases are ultra-bright neon vinyl films available in Orange, Yellow, and Pink. These materials stand out from enormous distances on the track. However, designs on a Fluo base can only use two colours — the neon base colour and black.

Best for: Riders who want maximum visibility and a high-energy look.
